The Society division works in four scientific groups to develop technological innovations for a sustainable digital society and the associated organisational framework in science, business and politics. The Personal Pervasive Computing (PPC) group researches and develops mobile and everyday pervasive technologies for welfare, digital participation and user- and citizen-centred technology development and examines their appropriate embedding in the daily lives of users, for example with regard to social acceptance and suitability for everyday use.
What you enable:
To lead the PPC group, we are looking for a person with creative spirit and leadership experience, a high level of scientific expertise and a passion for application- and transfer-orientated research. Together with the scientific leaders, the other group leaders and the head of division, you will develop the research strategy of your working group and significantly incorporate your own scientific ideas and visions. You acquire new third-party funded projects, contribute to research and publications, are responsible for the group's projects from a scientific and administrative perspective and are the group's point of contact both internally and externally.
What you bring to the table:
- Completed relevant doctorate with at least a very good grade
- Strong teamwork skills and ideally experience in team and staff leadership
- Sound knowledge and experience in the areas of human-technology interaction with a focus on, for example, pervasive computing, wearable computing, personal computing and/or prototyping technologies
- Ideally experience in the management of scientific projects and the acquisition of third-party funded projects
- Confident appearance, organisational skills and good communication and presentation skills
- Profound knowledge of German (at least B2 and willingness to learn) and fluent English
