Virtual and augmented reality, known under the collective term "mixed reality", allow us to immerse ourselves in other worlds or enable an expanded perception of our own world.
Modern and specialized workstations enable the creation and execution of our experiments. Virtual and augmented reality headsets, a modern surround sound system and a screen support the immersive experience. In this lab, we do not only deal with the use of these technologies, but also explore other fields such as motion capturing, eye tracking and gesture control. Here, experiments for Mixed Reality can be created at two workstations.
MiRaCLe is used especially when the experiment cannot be carried out in the real world, either because of spatial conditions or a risk for our participants. In virtual reality, we can set up an intensive care room, a ship's bridge, a busy street or a production hall in minutes. This minimizes risk, cost, and prototype cycles.
At MiRaClE, our real labs can also be explored virtually: demonstrators are being set up for this purpose, which can then be presented and tried out through a virtual tour.
