Health-X Legitimierter Offener und Föderierter Gesundheitsdatenraum in GAIA X

Goal

The healthcare sector is highly regulated and health data is considered to be especially sensitive to protection. Most of the data from the first and second health sectors are locked in proprietary systems that significantly hinder the aggregation and secondary use of health data. The vision of the Health-X project is to place citizens at the center of the provision, use and control of their own health data within the framework of a citizen-centered health data space. The health data will be integrated in a legitimate, open and funded dataLOFT platform and made accessible according to GAIA-X standards. The goal is to develop transparent, cloud-based health applications with leaders in health IT and healthcare.

OFFIS' task is to develop and investigate use cases with close involvement of end users as part of a human-centered design process, and to emphasize the end-user perspective in the project. The use cases demonstrate the opportunities that arise from connecting health data from the primary and secondary health care markets. The use cases address socially highly relevant issues of strengthening the role of citizens, preventive health care, healthy aging and clinical care, where the core question of who finances the "therapy of the healthy" finds new answers in presented B2P and B2C models. Health-X achieves a high visibility and broad impact in Germany and Europe with the presented solution approaches.
