Digitization in the energy and power system leads to a changed role of information and communication technology in electrical distribution networks. Flexibility of renewable energies and on the consumer side can be realized through smart grid solutions.
For this purpose, smart grid applications are integrated through a mass roll-out into the daily operations. Largo! supports the mass roll-out of smart grid applications and energy management through a secure deployment process at both network and customer level. A smart grid application for the aggregation of flexibility at the household level is implemented as an example and prepared for mass roll-out. The challenge of stability and resilience is addressed by simultaneously viewing ICT infrastructure during runtime, ICT maintenance, and application deployment.
The roll-out is tested in large-scale simulation scenarios and the effects are analyzed and evaluated. The process is supported by the design of a secure infrastructure and robust applications.
The work is divided into the phases of modeling, design and analysis and evaluation. In the first phase, the electricity and ICT network as well as selected Smart Grid applications are modeled and prepared for simulation. The design phase is dealing with the development of the deployment process and the adaptation of smart grid applications. On the other hand, a safe and resilient system design is developed. In the analysis phase, the behaviour of the smart grid applications is analyzed, evaluated and assessed in large-scale simulations during operation as well as during roll-out. The work is supported by the exchange with the knowledge community form ERA-Net Smart Grids Plus.
