The extensive and urgent transition in the energy system not only has technical aspects, but also socio-cultural, economic, ecological and politic aspects. To be able to analyze these aspects together, the modelling and simulation tools have to be extended to support these aspects. OFFIS aims to extend the functionality to be able to model and simulate cellular energy systems taking the before mentioned aspects into account. To achieve that, OFFIS aims to extend the co-simulation framework mosaik.
hyBit aims to establish a hydrogen hub in Bremen. The central starting point is the steelworks of Arcelor Mittal. As a currently large emitter of carbon dioxide, it is the goal to reduce the emissions with the use of renewable green hydrogen and to open a path to a climate neutral production. The goal from OFFIS is to use the co-simulation framework mosaik to model and simulate the transformation process in multiple dimensions such as technological, ecological and socio-cultural.
In this project, OFFIS mainly uses and extends the open source co-simulation framework mosaik.
